The reunion began over wine at Kelli Young’s house, where the band members decided to celebrate their anniversary for the benefit of their children. Tony Lundon, Kevin Simm, Kelli Young, Jessica Taylor, and Michelle Heaton will perform as a five-piece, joined by the surviving members of Hear’Say. The tour marks a final reconciliation for the groups, who were pitted against each other by the press during the early 2000s.
Liberty X and Hear’Say Reunite for Arena Tour 25 Years After Popstars
Twenty-five years after failing to make the final cut on the ITV talent show Popstars, the members of Liberty X are preparing to share the stage with their former rivals, Hear’Say. The groups are set to embark on a major UK and Ireland arena tour, marking a quarter-century of shared history.

Kevin Simm, who won The Voice UK in 2016, remains critical of the modern talent show format. Despite his own victory, he argues that such programs fail to provide lasting support for winners. Michelle Heaton echoed these sentiments, noting that her experience as a judge on the Irish show You’re A Star felt mass-produced and creatively stifling. While Hear’Say achieved immediate record-breaking success with their debut single Pure & Simple before disbanding after 18 months, Liberty X found long-term stability, eventually securing a BRIT Award for their number one hit, Just A Little. For the upcoming shows, the band plans to revive their iconic PVC costumes, a nod to the peak of their early success.
