The company’s S-1 filing outlines a bold domestic growth plan, targeting a total of 7,500 US locations. Executives believe the brand remains under-penetrated even in established markets, with international ambitions in Canada, the UK, and Ireland potentially pushing the total store count toward 15,000. To sustain this trajectory, the chain is marketing its menu as "protein-forward," specifically positioning its sub sandwiches as a viable dining option for consumers tracking protein intake or utilizing GLP-1 weight-loss medications.
Jersey Mike's IPO filing reveals aggressive expansion and luxury perks
With over 3,300 locations already dotting the American landscape, Jersey Mike’s is positioning itself for a massive public offering. The restaurant chain, recently bolstered by Blackstone’s $8 billion majority stake, is now disclosing a strategy to quadruple its footprint while navigating the high-stakes costs of its founder’s executive benefits.

Financial disclosures within the prospectus highlight significant payouts to the inner circle of founder Peter Cancro. Before Blackstone acquired its majority stake in early 2025, family members of the founder received substantial compensation; for example, stepson Phillip Sivolobov earned nearly $51 million between 2023 and 2025. Additionally, the company spent $41 million on a private jet for Cancro in 2024, transferring the aircraft to an entity he controls. The chain also covered $2 million in related air travel expenses for the former CEO, a series of outlays that preceded the company’s transition toward public markets.
